Understanding Aromatherapy

At the 72 Hotel, we continually strive to rejuvenate the mind and body of our clients. From offering personalized therapy sessions to a spectacular indoor pool, our goal is to provide the epitome of tranquility. Organic Aromatherapy is another way to relax stressful minds. Our experienced team at the Ellipse Spa blends essential oils to offer the ultimate pamper session. Although our organic Aromatherapy is a customer-favorite, many of our clients are unaware of what it truly is. So, today this blog is dedicated to exploring Aromatherapy.

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a specific holistic treatment that incorporates essential oils (natural plant extracts) into the massage. Widely used oils include lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus, and more. The purpose of Aromatherapy is to improve the overall physical and mental well-being.

How does it work?

During aromatherapy massage, diluted oils are applied to the body, which enters the skin and acts as a gateway for oils to enter the bloodstream and circulate across the body. When you inhale the scented oils, it naturally promotes beneficial changes in emotions, memory, appetite, and more.

Does Aromatherapy work?

According to NCCIH (National Center for Complementary & Integrative Health), scented oils were concluded to boost mood. In another instance, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) 's results showed a significant decline in anxiety after Aromatherapy with chamomile massages. Research from the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a study published in Menopause revealed that participants experienced reduced menstrual cramps and eased menopausal symptoms, respectively.

As you can see, Aromatherapy is a wonderful treatment. So, on your next trip to the 72 Hotel, we recommend an aromatherapy massage from the Ellipse Spa. Your mind and body will thank you for it. We can't wait to serve you!
